Quote of My Day

It seems to me that in the last year, I have grown to love myself more than I ever have. I am 29 years old. I have found so many of my flaws to be a downfall, in the past. Looking at them today, I see a stairway to the woman I've become. It has taken me this long to finally love who I am. I most certainly don't have that kind of time to convince someone else. 

"Ain't nobody got time for that!"

When I was 6 years old I lost both my Papa and my Grandpa two weeks apart. As a child, I didn't understand what was going on. I knew people were sad and I knew my parent's fathers were gone, I just didn't understand the intense feelings that the grown ups were feeling. After high school, my graduating class experienced a huge loss when a classmate passed away a week before we all started college. I was never extremely close with the boy but he grew up around the corner from me, we rode the school bus together, and we hung around with all the neighborhood kids together. He was a good kid! I was deeply saddened by the loss we had all experienced, but still didn't feel the same hurt that some others were feeling. Take a Ride with Me

I have written before about escaping . When I lived in Tennessee it was a lot easier to just get in my car, drive into the mountainous area where my favorite lake was, lose cell service, and hide for a weekend. Living back in Ohio has made it a little more difficult to escape to anywhere. Life has been very crazy this summer. One of my best friends and I, however, found a great escape. We kept saying we wanted to work out, which I've even stated on my 30 before 30 list that I wanted to work out more, and we found a way that wasn't too much or too little. Bicycling There's a bike trail that runs north and south about 2 miles from where I live so we ride over to the trail and usually head north to get a little exercise and catch up on our gossip. I have found this to be a wonderful outlet. In the beginning we called it our BBR's (Bestie Bike Rides).
